Just ahead of America’s 250th anniversary, Boston National Historical Park commemorated the 250th anniversary of the Battle of Bunker Hill in June 2025. A $25,000 grant from America’s National Parks supported several key elements of the anniversary programming.
To open the commemorative period, the park partnered with Bunker Hill Community College and the British Consulate General Boston to host a panel discussion featuring prominent historians. Eastern National funding supported the participation of panelist Nathaniel Philbrick and moderator Dr. Brooke Barbier. Approximately 400 people attended the discussion, and its reach continues to grow through an online recording.
In recognition of the ideals championed in 1775, the park partnered with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to welcome 250 new citizens during a naturalization ceremony at Bunker Hill.
