Grand Portage National Monument received $6,000 in Aid-to-Park assistance from Eastern National (the parent of America’s National Parks) in 2024. These funds helped support the park’s new Visual Information Specialist position. The park purchased digital photography and video equipment to improve the quality of the park’s photo library, video content, signage, and other visual interpretative materials. These items were tested during the park’s annual Rendezvous in August and used for the remainder of the fiscal year to enhance Grand Portage National Monument’s digital asset capabilities. The park looks forward to continuing these efforts in the coming years.
