The U.S. Army Field Band & Soldiers’ Chorus returns to Independence Mall for a special Independence Concert Series performance honoring Soldiers and Veterans. The evening features a headlining performance by Queen Latifah and a special appearance by Cassie Donegan. The event begins with a 250th anniversary award ceremony, where the Wawa Foundation will present its Salute to Service Award to a USO Center and volunteer, alongside more than $100,000 in program donations.

The Salute to Independence Semiquincentennial Day Parade returns in 2026 as the nation’s largest professionally produced 250th celebration parade. Featuring 250 vibrant elements representing all 50 states and U.S. territories—including appearances by Miss America titleholders—the parade brings the country’s story to life. Expect an unforgettable lineup of marching bands, elaborate floats, military units, and cultural showcases celebrating America’s past, present, and future.

The National Constitution Center will award the 38th annual Liberty Medal to Pope Leo XIV on July 3, 2026, at Independence Mall. Honoring his global advocacy for religious liberty and freedom of expression, the ceremony will feature live virtual remarks from the Vatican, streamed to audiences onsite and worldwide.
