Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument

Virtual tours of Abó and Quarai will take you through two different seventeenth century Franciscan Spanish mission churches, the associated conventos, and the pueblos they served.  This was a time of conflict in New Mexico, as was recorded in written records and preserved through oral history.  Although these missions and pueblos were abandoned in the late seventeenth century, stone walls still remain, and the landscape is home to a variety of plant and animal species today.
