19th Amendment Centennial Collection Complements “Women Making History”

March is Women’s History Month, and this year we also celebrate the centennial of the 19th Amendment. To accompany the latest Eastern National publication, Women Making History: The 19th Amendment, EN also developed a collection of custom educational products, inspired by the title, to honor the significant anniversary.

“We worked closely with the NPS Northeast Regional Office and the NPS 19th Amendment Centennial Commemoration team to create products for this collection,” says Eastern National’s Merchandise Manager Julianna Haviv. “By collaborating early on the content that the NPS team was developing, like the 20 suffragists you need to know for 2020, we were able to connect our product to the diverse stories the National Park Service wanted to tell. It was a successful group effort and created the mold for how we can work together on events like this in the future.”

The 19th Amendment Political Cartoon Postcard pack features illustrations by the official cartoonist of the National Woman’s Party, Nina Evans Allender, who created over 150 cartoons during the fight for equality. These illustrations were adapted into a set of modern-day postcards and honor the creative forces that helped bolster the American suffrage movement.

The suffragists portraits poster and tote bag are based on the National Park Service’s “20 Suffragists You Should Know” and commemorates the diverse group of individuals—both recognizable and lesser known—who fought for women’s right to vote. The products feature portraits of these suffragists below the powerful phrase “I Vote Because They Spoke,” a reminder that the results of their hard work are still felt today.

The 19th Amendment Centennial Collection is available on the America’s National Parks™ Online Store, where your purchase supports the parks.

For a limited time, Women Making History: The 19th Amendment is available for free on the America’s National Parks website as a featured resource.
